Spring is here, and I can’t wait to add a little color to our dining room. We love creating simple DIY Easter Decorations. Although my current favorite is this simple Spring garland. Beautiful! The bunnies are too cute, and the painting technique is so fun. Read on to find out how to make your own simple bunny garland.

Wax Paper Resist is not only beautiful, but also so fun to make. We love this simple art technique. Each piece of wax paper leaves a slightly different print. My favorite is the starburst that you see in the above photo. I love that you don’t it discover what the print will look like until you paint it with watercolors. Beautiful. Tutorial on how to make DIY Easter Decorations:

Print out our bunny template.
Trace and cut out your little wax paper resist bunnies.
Glue on the fluffy little bunny tails.
Punch holes in each of the ears.
Thread with bakers twine, and hang

Simple, adorable and oh so colorful. Love it. I love making garlands because they are an easy and inexpensive way to decorate for the holidays.

Ladybug Number Game

Preschool Math ~ Ladybug Number Game

Ladybugs are one of my favorite bugs. Have you tried making any of our fun Ladybug Crafts? My favorite is our long legged paper plate ladybugs. Adorable! So it just seemed natural to create a simple spring number game using ladybugs. Since iIdentifying numbers is something we are really working on, this little spring game was prefect.

Materials Needed:

Wooden Ladybug Clothespins
Jumbo Craft Sticks
Masking Tape
Wooden Box or Table ~ to tape the craft sticks too.

I love these little Lady bug clothes pins. They are so sweet and make a perfect manipulative for this simple game.

Alternative to purchasing the little Wooden Ladybug Clothespins: use regular clothes pins and add little ladybug stickers, or draw a ladybug. Easy peasy!

Clothespin Number Match-Up:

The premise of this simple game is: Pin the correct number of ladybug clothespins to the number stick (resembling grass).

I simply drew the numbers 1-5 onto the craft sticks, taped them to the back of a wooden box, and encouraged the kids to come and play. They knew exactly what to do, and immediately began pinning them to the little number sticks.

Not only does this simple activity reinforce those all-too important number recognition skills, but it also involves counting, and fine motor skills of clothespin-pinching. Yay!

Easter Stained Glass Art

Stained Glass Watercolor Art ~ Easter Art Projects

Have you tried making stained glass art with your kids? Its super easy to create, and you only need a few supplies. Easter art projects are always a hit, and these adorable stained glass creations are so fun for kids and enjoyable for grown-ups too! Love it!

Materials needed:

Watercolor Paper
Watercolors
Paint Brush
Easter Egg Shaped Cookie Cutter
Black Tempera Paint

We used the same stamping technique to create our paper flower garland. Have the kids stamp egg shapes over their entire paper. For this project, it works best when the egg prints over lap.

Once your paper is full of egg shapes, its time to all a little color. Like a coloring book, use the watercolors to fill in all the white spaces. Easy Peasy! I could fill my whole house with simple easter art projects like this.

It may take a bit of patience to paint all the little areas. However, we had so much fun painting and chatting. I love that this little project turned it into family time around the table.

Notice that the cookie cutter prints are not totally connected and slightly imperfect. That totally adds a little interest and dimension to the piece.

Cookie cutters make the best prints. It is so easy, and works for any holiday. Have you seen our cookie cutter shamrock prints or our star filled 4th of July art? Love it!

It was fun watching the kids decide which color should be placed in which space. They were very concerned that 2 of the same color would be touching. Ha! Love it. I love how these simple prints turned out. So easy and perfect for most any age.

St Patricks Day Craft for Kids ~ Rainbow Cloud

Rainbows and glitter make me happy. This adorable St Patricks Day craft is the perfect combination between the two.

Materials Needed:

Cloud Printable (click link to print)
Shamrock Printable (click here to print)
Construction Paper ~ in the colors of the rainbow
White Glue
Glitter
Green Yarn or String

I adore making St Patricks Day crafts with my kids. A few of my favorites use these same templates. I love our simple Fruit Loop early math game using this same cloud PDF, and the colorful Rainbow Shamrock using the shamrock PDF. I love tat we are able to use these simple printables in more than one craft!

Easy st patricks day craft:

The kids painted watered down white glue (about 50:50) onto the little shamrocks. They then sprinkled them with sliver glitter. Since the kids love glitter so much, we decided to use 2 different sizes of glitter. I love the contrast of the larger flakes and the smaller dust like glitter. You can never have too much sparkle!

Simply glue the rest of the pieces together, add a little string so the shamrocks hang from the cloud and your all done.

They look great hanging on my fridge. A little sparkle and color to brighten the space. Love it!

Easy Toddler St Patricks Day Shamrock Craft

My favorite crafts to create around St Patricks Day are all rainbows and shamrocks. Thats why I decided to combine the 2 into this simple Preschool Shamrock craft. I know green is the traditional color, but I love this little colorful twist. Don’t you? Read on to find out how we made them.

Materials Needed:

Craft Glue ~ Watered Down 50/50
Paintbrush
Thick White Paper
Tissue Paper ~ In Rainbow Colors
Free Printable Shamrock Template ~ (click the link to print)

Stained Glass Shamrock

I precut a number of little squares of tissue paper in the colors of the rainbow. I was surprised with how many we used, so make sure to cut lots.

Simply glue the colorful squares onto the paper with watered down glue. Tissue paper tares easily when wet. By watering the glue down, it helps keep the tissue paper from rips.

Set aside to dry.

I love the rainbow colors of this simple St Patricks Day craft. We have made a number of green shamrocks, so this is a refreshing twist. Love it!
