Paper Plate Turkey ~ Thanksgiving craft for kids
Gobble, gobble!  I have been busy creating adorable Thanksgiving crafts with my kids.  These adorable rainbow turkeys are so easy to make and since I love crafting with paper plates they are perfect.  Not only are paper plates inexpensive but I always have them on hand.  Read on to find out how to make your own adorable turkey.
Materials Needed:
- Paper Plate
- Brown Paint
- Brown Paper strips
- Glue
- Paper ~ red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, black, and white
- Scissors
Start by painting your paper plate brown. Â Once the paint is dry, glue on the paper strips.
We used a similar technique when we made these little Washi Tape Turkeys.  You really should check them out if you have not already.  They are ADORABLE!
Anyway…back to the glue. Â Nothing better than a squeezing out piles of glue;) Â Although, if a gluey mess is not your thing, then try making a glue sponge. Â It really does cut down on the mess and the excessive blobs of glue that seem unavoidable with kids.
Once all the glue is dry, flip the paper plate over and add the rainbow colored tail feathers.  You could totally could stick with more traditional fall colors, but I love how cheery these look.  Either way, this little turkey is adorable!
Finally, add the giant eyes (or goggly eyes), the beak and snood (the red piece that hangs down from the beak).  Happy Thanksgiving!
