Torn Flower Craft ~ Veteran’s Day or Remembrance Day Poppy for Kids
For Remembrance Day last year, we made giant poppies. This year, we made simple ripped paper poppies.  They are easy to make, and only need a few paper scraps.  Love that!  Plus, they are a great opportunity for you to talk to your kids about gratitude and your country’s history.
These little poppies are so simple to make and only need a few materials. Love that! Â All you need are a few scraps of red and black construction paper and white glue. Â What could be easier?!?
I don’t know about you, but tearing paper into little bits can be slightly therapeutic.  We tore and made piles of red and black paper before we started gluing.
How to make a simple Torn Paper Poppy:
- Add a circle of glue to your paper, and press the red pieces into the glue.  This will create the base of the flower.
- Glue smaller black pieces of paper to the center of the red poppy.
- Finally add a black stem and set aside to dry. Â Super simple.
If you are looking for more patriotic American crafts I have lots of creative ideas here.
These little poppies would look great with tissue paper as well.
This was a perfect way to use up all the paper scraps from our Paper Poppies.  We even made a little video to show you have to make them.  Click here for the tutorial.
