Adorable Valentines Craft for Kids ~ Heart Lady Bug
My kids love creating animals with heart shapes.  A few of their favorite heart animals include a squirrel, a monkey, an alligator and a ladybug.  I love those ones too, but I’m super partial to the little hedgehog.  There’s just something about the little heart shaped spikes that makes me smile.  Today the kids are busy making adorable little heart lady bugs.
Materials Needed:
- Red and Black Construction Paper
- Scissors
- Glue
To make these adorable little bugs, have the kids grab a pair of scissors.  They will need to cut a number of strips for the legs/antennae, a large heart shape for the body, a circle for the head, eyes, little heart feet and a number of heart spots.
I love that this little Lady bug is made from a heart with a little twist.  Check out the photo above to see how we cut the heart body and then set it on its side.  I love this simple trick for turning a heart into a bug!  Trim the heart and use the straight edge as the bottom of the lady bug.
Next, glue the head, eyes, antennae, feet and all the little heart spots to the main body. Finish this little guy off with a smile and your all set.  You could also add a little cheesy Valentines saying like “will you be my little love bug”?  Adorable!
Happy Valentines Day!
