Washi Tape Rainbow

Rainbow Craft for Kids ~ Washi Tape Kids Craft

Everything is cuter with the addition of a little washi tape.  Seriously! Even our little paper plate rainbows are getting a washi tape makeover.  This version is so much better.  Check out all the texture and color.  Adorable!

Do you have a little one obsessed with tape?  Then this is the perfect project!  Raid your washi tape stash, and find as many different patterns and colors as you can.  Our hardest color to find was yellow.  Apparently I need to buy more yellow washi tape.  Ha!

Have the kiddos sort the washi tape by color.  Then encourage them to cut short pieces of tape and stick them onto the matching strip of paper.  Easy!

When each of the strips of paper is filled with washi tape, its time to attached to to the cloud.  We just taped the paper strips to the back of the paper plate.  You could also staple them to the paper plate like we did with our Paper Plate Rainbows.  Either way works great!

Next your going to glue on the cotton balls.  Squishing glue bottles is a simple way to work on fine motor and eye/hand coordination skills.  Squish glue onto the paper plate and then stick on a cotton ball.  Continue until the cloud is nice and puffy!

With that said, have you seen how we made our glue sponge?  Honestly, it totally revolutionized how we glue simple paper projects.
