Paper Plate Owl

Paper Plate Owl ~ Easy kids craft

Hoot Hoot!  Ready to turn a simple paper plate into an adorable owl?  If you are a regular Housing A Forest reader, you will know how much I love both owls and paper plates.  Combining both into one adorable craft just seems natural, and the results are perfect.

How to make a Paper Plate Owl:

Start by painting your paper plate brown.  Set aside to dry.

Glue on the eyes.  I love the look of all the layered colors, but you could easily skip the blue layer.

Since we were using Feathers for the wings, the tummy of the owl needed a little extra color.  So I pulled out my scrapbooking paper and let the kids choose their favorite patterns.

Next the kiddos glued on the owls beak and feet.

One of the kiddos asked for a hair bow.  The next thing I new, everyone wanted bows.  Although I have to agree…it was a good choice.  I am especially in love with the little tufts of feather hair peaking out of a few of the bows.
