Recycled Halloween Art for kids ~ Junk Drawer Pumpkins
Anyone else have an over flowing junk drawer that needs a little fall cleaning?  I’m pretty sure that my “junk” never looked too good!  All you need is a little paint, junk drawer parts and a glue gun.  I am in love with these simple recycled pumpkins, just in time for Halloween!
Materials needed:
- Metal Lid ~ We used an old paint can lid
- Your junk drawer ~ look for Nuts, bolts, nails, washers, springs…really anything that you find at the bottom of your junk drawer.
- Orange and Green Paint
- Glue gun ~ remember to use a low temp glue gun with little fingers.
Its time to get creative and think outside the box! Â We had so much fun creating these little recycled Halloween Jack-O’-Lanterns.
Start by painting the metal lid orange and the stem green.  Set aside to dry.
Pull out all your old bolts and gears, nails and screws and create a steampunk pumpkin to decorate your home. Turn your pumpkin into an amazing Steampunk Jack-O’-Lantern.
Hint:  We did lots of stacking and layering to make our pumpkins.  A single washer is great, but if you layer washers, nuts and various other junk items really make your pumpkins look amazing!
Now I just need to decide the perfect place to hang them.
Don’t they look amazing? Â I just can’t get enough! Â We will defiantly be building from our junk drawer again real soon. Â I wonder what else we have lurking in there.
Wow – I just love these! They are very neat indeed. I like how you can get totally creative making them. Sharing!
