Simple experiment to tell raw and hard boiled eggs apart
Forget which eggs in your fridge are hard boiled and which are raw? No problem! We have a couple of simple experiments that you can use to sort out this tricky question. No more cracking the egg and crossing you fingers you guessed right.

Raw egg vs hard boiled egg ~ easy trick to tell them apart.
You will need:
- One Hard Boiled Egg
- One Raw Egg
First Experiment: Stop motion
Spin the egg on its side on a smooth surface. The egg should be spinning at a steady, regular pace. Stop the egg from spinning by quickly placing your finger on the center of the rotating egg and then immediately removing your hand.
Watch what happens to the egg. If the egg stays still, it is a hard boiled egg. If the egg continues to slowly rotate or wobble it is uncooked.
Second Experiment: Spinning Top
Spin the egg the same as above, only faster. Instead of stopping the motion of the egg, watch what happens as the egg spins.
If the egg spins quickly and stands up on its end like a top, then the egg is hard boiled. If the egg wobbles and stays on its side, then its raw.
