Road Trip BINGO

I love summer road trips.  We just returned from visiting my family, which is about 20 hours by car one way.  We drive up a few times a year, and we are continually tweaking our system to make the trip as easy as possible.  We don’t watch many movies, even though we have a built in movie player.  Our trip is viewed as “captive family time.”  I plan lots of fun activities, we play games, do crafts and hopefully enjoy spending time together:)  We have been blessed with 3 wonderful travelers.  Over the next few days I will be sharing what our car looks like and what types of things we do together to make the time go quickly.

One of the things that the kids love to do is play travel bingo.  Although, most free printable travel bingo games are usually designed with only 4 boards.  Boo!  We like options, so I got out my sharpie and set to work.  This is my first printable pdf so hopefully this works.

I created 8 different Bingo boards.  Each board has the same objects just in different spots.  I like to laminated our Bingo boards which makes them reusable.  When you find an object on your Bingo board, simply cross off with a dry erase marker.  Once someone has won, wipe all the boards clean with a cloth.  Like with regular Bingo, before you start determine what type of Bingo you will be playing.

I would love to hear where you played my Bingo game.  It would be interesting to know how far it has traveled and where it has been played.

Disclaimer:  I am super excited to have the road trip bingo printable available for your use.  If you would like to share, please share a link to my blog.  Please do not link directly to just the PDF files.  Please feel free to print the PDF file for your own personal use, but do not sell or host these files anywhere else.  Thanks and have fun playing road trip bingo!

Yay!!! We leave tomorrow for a trip to Michigan from near Philly, PA… a 12 hour trip for us. While we spend most of our time night driving, the few hours once we leave and the times when the kids wake up as we get close, these will be great for my 10 and 6 year old to do.

These will be great when traveling from home to Albuquerque for doctor’s visits or shopping. (we live in the boondocks so when we need something that we can’t get at home then we have to go 200 miles to Albuquerque).
    Thanks for the great game.

My parents did this for us as well… some 50 years ago. They looked up specific sites we would see on our trip. They also had the columns labeled They also had the columns labeled with money so that for each item we found, we could earn a little vacation money. Thanks for posting.

How great! I’m just getting organised for a 25 hour drive from Melbourne to the Sunshine coast and was looking to update our spotto cards when I decided to pop by your blog. And there they were! And I love the bingo idea too – makes a change from spotto where you need to find everything. Thanks a heap!

Thank you so much for these!! We are headed from Michigan to North Carolina and this is a game that allows the 6 year old to keep up with the 8 year old (unlike the Alphabet game – where he completely dominates).

For double value, print another activity on the back of each card – colouring sheets for little ones and word searches or puzzles for older ones. Then when they get tired of playing Bingo, they can turn the card over and do another activity on the other side. And if they make a mistake – well they can just rub it out and start again!

Thanks again for these – they’re great!

I have used these with my twins to travel all over: Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee…and more. I gave your link to friends and they have used them too. I’m actually printing more off as I type. The kids LOVE it. We take a roll of quarters with us and they get a quarter for winning…they save them up and use them for little treats.

Taking my three nieces, age 4-8, on winter road trip through Iowa, from Des Moines, to Hawkeye Point in northwest near MN to Charles Mound, IL and back to Des Moines. They will love having something to look for in between all those snow covered farms.

Between car games and hotel indoor swimming pools, plus a visit to a cave, I hope they remember the trip to the IA and IL state highpoints as something fun and not simply a very long drive!
