How to make a Traffic Light

Preschool Transportation Theme ~ How to make a Traffic Light

This week we are all about transportation activities.  The kids are having fun learning about different types of transportation, playing with road maps, and creating art with license plates.  Today we are making a super simple traffic light that only took us about 5 minutes.

This little traffic light is so easy to make.  I pre-cut all the pieces and the kids simply assembled and glued everything together.  Although, this would be a great activity for working on those scissor skills.

We read a could fun books after we made our little traffic lights.  This favorite was “Red Light, Green Light” by Anastasia Suen,” but they also enjoyed “Stop and Go, Maisy!” by Lucy Cousins.

We then headed outside to play a game of Red Light, Green Light to help reinforce our new concepts.  The kids had fun running around with their little traffic lights.
