All Wrapped Up

Christmas tree storage can be a real issue.  I could not resist taking a picture of the Christmas trees all wrapped up (well minus my entry way tree, which I’m not ready to pack up yet!).  Are all your holiday decorations all taken down and reorganized?  It brings me mixed feelings.  I’m sad to see all the pretty decorations boxed up, but I love all the extra space I’ve gained back.  Who would have thought just a few little trees would take up that much floor space;)

We are having a little debate and wondering if you would be so kind as to give your opinion.  When you take down your tree, how do you store it?  In the original box neatly placed; left fully together and wrapped in plastic to protect from dust; or shoved haphazardly in a back closet that will not be opened again until Dec 23rd.  Thanks for you input and happy reorganizing!

If you don’t want to miss out on any of the fun we are having at Housing A Forest, make sure to follow us on Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter.

we take all the ornaments and garland off, and take our tree apart. the one we have right now is in 3 easy pieces, and stores well in a plastic tub. then all the other decorations fit in another tub. i think if i had more than one tree, i’d probably do what you do. 🙂

btw, i have been wandering around your blog all day. i am finding some of the most fun activities and crafts. sooo many things got pinned on my board. i am thankful to have found your blog. thank you for posting. 🙂

We put ours back in it’s original box along with the wreath, garland, and the tacky little bushes that I really don’t like but put out every year because we paid for it gosh darn it!

Ha, ha, ha. We have an older artifical tree that ALL the branches come off individually…so we take them all off, press them together (to make them as small as we can) and then it all goes into the original box and into the rafters until next year. Ornaments are carefully boxed up into their original boxes too…keeps them safe from breaking. Takes a LONG time to unwrap and wrap them all up and put away again, but I have had the same ornaments since I first got married 34 years ago…just keep adding to them each year. Ones without original boxes have a mix up of small boxes which I have labeled in the lid…who can remember where everthing goes otherwise. LOVE your site & ideas (which I hope to someday use with grandchildren). 🙂
