I love how kids draw people. Â There is just something about them that makes me smile every time. Â Annika made this beautiful drawing of our family today with a fine black sharpie. Â I love everything about it.
As always, she wanted to add some color. Â I was hesitant to make a big mess with paint since I was cleaning up the house for a dessert party. Â So we pulled out the water color pencils. Â I LOVE watercolor pencils because they are easy for kids to control, no mess and they look wonderful.
Annika colored everything with the water color pencils. Â Cute!
I love how the colors get brighter and you no longer see the pencil lines. Â It looks just like water colors.
We also bring the watercolor pencils in the car so the kids can paint while we are driving.  Instead of a paint brush and water, we use the Blender Brushes from Stampin’ Up so there is no water to spill.  Also if your kiddos enjoy the coloring books you can buy for water painting, you can create your own with watercolor pencils.  Simply color the page with the water color pencils, and then let the kiddos “paint” it with water.
ohhh I love this so much! The way kids draw people is so cute!
Where did you get those amazing watercolor pencils? Ive never seen them but- they look like a ton of fun!
I bought mine at our local art supply store a few years ago. I love them!
I love how kids draw people too! My youngest still leaves off the body. It’s a big circle with arms and legs. Makes me smile every time. I’m going to have to look into those water color pencils for sure.
Thank you bunches for linking up to Fun For Kids Friday. I hope to see you there again!

Love these ! I have tagged you to this campaign http://puttiprapancha.blogspot.com/2011/05/self-portrait-for-cause-no-child-is.html
When Katelyn first started drawing people, they looked like potatoes. lol. And Cloe’s people started as heads with legs. I love the idea of the watercolor pencils and blender brushes, thanks!
Wow! I had no idea these types of pencils existed – putting them on our list for summer fun!
They are so fun Jacquie, and are our favorite quick way to make art. They are easy to take with you if you are creating on the go, and are virtually mess free. I would love to hear what you kids think of them!
