Glitter Shamrock Sun Catcher
St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, and the perfect time to make these adorable Glitter Shamrocks.  These little shamrock sun-catchers are perfect for adding a little sparkle to your window.
Glitter Shamrock supplies:
- Cereal Box or similar cardboard
- White Glue
- Glitter (we used green and silver)
- Wax Paper
- Craft Knift
Draw a simple shamrock shape onto the center of the cereal box. Â If you don’t feel comfortable drawing your own, you can print one off the internet and trace it.
Once you have the shamrock drawn, use an craft knife to cut out the silhouette.  Try to cut out your shamrock carefully.  We used the same shamrock cut out to make our Stained Glass Shamrocks sun catchers.
Tape a piece of wax paper to your work surface (we used a craft tray). Â Also tape the cardboard onto the wax paper to create a mask for the glue.
Squeeze glue all over the shamrock cut out. Â Encouraged the kids to keep the glue bottle moving as they squeezed. Â Although there is really no wrong way to go about it.
Remove the cardboard cutout before handing over the glitter bottle. Â Since I am using our cardboard cut out for another craft soon, I wiped some of the excess glue from ours.Â
The kids loved shaking glitter all over their shamrock.  I love these little  glitter shakers from CraftProjectIdeas.com.  They are easy for little ones to hold and they only shake out a small amount of glitter at a time.  Two important things to think about when using glitter with kids.Set your glittered shamrock aside to dry overnight.  Once the glue is dry, peel it from the wax paper and hang it on a string in your window.
I love how sparkly these little shamrocks look hanging in the window. Â This project was deemed prefect from my day care kiddos. Â Squeezing glue and shaking glitter it is winning combination in their books:)
Those turned out so cool! Pinning to my St. Patrick’s Day board.
Thanks Jessica!
How pretty and simple. We love glitter here too.

Super pretty! I love this idea!! I’d like to invite you to participate in my Pin Me Linky Party. It goes Fri-Tue. I allow up to 3 links each week! I’m a new FB follower!
Did this with my preschooler and toddler this morning using clip art of a shamrock that I printed from office and cut out of a cardboard box. I found that it worked better if I outlined the shape in glue first and told them to doodle on the inside. Fun activity!
Thank you for sharing your idea with us on the Sunday Showcase. I have featured you this week.

My wax paper didn’t peel off. Any ideas what we did wrong?
