Family Movie Night

Bree came home from school Friday night asking if it would be OK to set up a fun surprise for Annika and Kaleb.  Absolutely!  Her plan was to create a home movie night.  We have done this a couple of times, but usually all the kids are involved in the planning.  It was so cute watching her plan and prep the fun surprise.

Each of the us received this cute ticket booklet.  The book included a ticket for a wrap, carrot sticks, grapes, apples, a drink, popcorn and a vanilla steamer.  I love it, great selection Bree!

Bree made sure that everyone surrendered their tickets before taking any of the food.  SO cute!  Kaleb was quick to ask if there was free refills.  Ha!

I’m so happy that Bree wanted to have a Movie Night.  Not much set up, and the kids LOVED it!  Watching a movie is fun, but it is always better when you make it an event!

How fun! My kids would love this. But I must know, what is a vanilla steamer?

A vanilla steamer is one of my kids favorite warm drinks. It is simply steamed milk with vanilla flavoring (coffee syrup), basically a latte with no espresso. You can order it at any coffee shop, but we enjoy making them at home. My kids enjoy this warm treat more than hot chocolate.

I have been looking for glass bottles like those, where do you get them from?

They are actually from the Starbucks Frappuccino drinks that you can buy in the grocery store. I just removed the labels.

Similarly, we remove the labeling from plastic single serve milk containers and use them for lunch drinks. If I send milk, I just pop it in the freezer the night before so it can slowly thaw in time for lunch. For other drinks, room temp is fine. They work great, fit in lunch boxes nicely, and if they get lost/damaged…no worries. Of course, they won’t work for hot drinks, but work great for lunches, picnics, or car rides.
